Emergency Energy Assistance for 2018
When cold weather hits, local residents and people struggling to pay bills are left wondering how they can make ends meet and still keep warm. Catholic Charities has already seen increasing demand for basic assistance with household energy needs, especially with the recent cold snap.
Thanks to a generous $120,000 grant from the National Grid Foundation, Catholic Charities is able to provide emergency energy assistance to many individuals and families during the winter months. The grant will go toward fuel-neutral assistance and will help an estimated 1,400 people in our 14 counties keep warm through the coldest time of year. While we applaud this wonderful donation, it won’t be able to meet all the needs in our area – and that’s where we need your help!
As part of its specialized effort to serve the many people who come to us looking for assistance, Catholic Charities is challenging the greater community to contribute to the Emergency Assistance Fund and help our neighbors in need. A gift as small as $5 can help keep a family warm for an evening.
Contributions to this fund will support individuals and families who come to us for help with heat, utility bills, food, warm clothing or other emergency assistance. You can donate by clicking the donate button below.
