GRANT FROM NATIONAL GRID FOUNDATION HELPS CATHOLIC CHARITIES HELP OTHERS WITH THEIR EMERGENCY ENERGY ASSISTANCE NEEDS

Catholic Charities anticipates receiving more "last resort" requests from households during 2012. Catholic Charities has already reported increasing demand for basic assistance with household energy needs. As a result of the $60,000 National Grid Foundation grant, 900 individuals representing 300 households will be assisted this heating season in the 14 counties of Upstate New York which comprise the Diocese of Albany.

Not only has the National Grid Foundation come forward with its fourth successive grant, but once again, it has increased the amount of the grant beyond what was requested by Catholic Charities.

As part of its specialized effort to serve those with such basic needs Catholic Charities is challenging the greater community to contribute to this Emergency Energy Assistance Fund (EEAF). All contributions will directly support individuals and families with their emergency energy needs.
