Provides eldercare respite services, information and assistance, support services and groups to assist caregivers as they care for their older spouses, parents, and friends. This program is available throughout the 14 counties of our Diocese.

Social model adult day care serving seniors with disabilities and memory impairments with full and half day programs. Transportation services available.
SENIOR DINING CENTERS - FRIENDSHIP CAFE
Nutritious midday meals served at four Schenectady County locations. Health and wellness programs, social activities and outings also offered.

HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION, COUNSELING & ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Provides information and assistance to help seniors enroll in public benefits and access numerous community services and resources, including:
- Help choosing Medicare health insurance and drug coverage via our Health Insurance Information and Assistance (HIICAP) program
- Assistance with food stamps and other public benefits
- Information about programs that can assist seniors with the costs of basic living expenses
- Referrals to transportation, meals on wheels, senior dining centers, and counseling programs within the Catholic Charities network

Manages housing and retirement communities for seniors and individuals with mobility impairments. DePaul Housing communities offer market rate one and two bedroom apartments and cottages and subsidized one bedroom and studio apartments. All applicants for subsidized communities must be income qualified; senior applicants must meet age eligibility requirements. Eligibility is determined based on an application and an eligibility interview. DePaul Housing is committed to providing equal housing opportunities.

LONG TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM

Protects the health, safety, welfare, human, and civil rights of people living in nursing homes and adult care facilities through volunteer Ombudsmen in 10 counties – Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Schoharie, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Warren, Washington, and Hamilton. Ombudsmen represent residents and work on their behalf with facility administrators, staff, and family members to achieve resolution of their complaints.

The Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Initiative seeks to alleviate the financial and emotional burden placed on caregivers. Services are offered in a 10-county region and provide a wide range of free support and respite services for caregivers including:

- Alzheimer's and Dementia Education
- Family Consultation & Counseling
- Support Groups
- Respite Care
