Catholic Charities Honors CC Heroes

At Catholic Charities, we rely on ?the incredible work of our "CC Heroes" - our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly in service of our neighbors. Each month, we'll be honoring a staff person and a volunteer from a different agency and sharing with you a little more about some of the work they do, from working with domestic violence survivors to volunteering in our food pantries to providing meals to students over summer break. This October, we're pleased to recognize Angie Smith and Patrick Kilpeck from Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie Counties and to announce the Oneonta Summer Food Program as this year's Kathleen Picotte Award Winner.

Angie has truly made a difference at Catholic Charities. Under Angie's leadership, the Domestic Violence Program in Schoharie County has grown exponentially, helping even more:

Patrick is a staple at our Thrift Store and Food Pantry on Wednesdays, and is always willing to go out of his way to lend a hand:

Each year, Catholic Charities honors one program with the Kathleen Picotte Award. Kathleen Picotte embodied the mission of Catholic Charities through her generosity and concern for the vulnerable. This year, the honor is given to the Oneonta Summer Food Program, which has adapted in the face of adversity serving even more neighbors this year in spite of the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic:
