At Catholic Charities, we're once again recognizing our “CC Heroes” – our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly in service of our neighbors. Each month, we're honoring a staff person and a volunteer from a different Catholic Charities agency and highlighting their work.
This month, we're pleased to recognize Vicky Sherer and Dave Manno from Catholic Charities of Herkimer County.
Vicky began working for Catholic Charities in a temporary role and stepped up in her current, full-time role as the office-manager during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has gone above and beyond, helping Catholic Charities of Herkimer County navigate many, many changes without missing a beat! Her colleagues say she is flexible, dependable and brings a positive attitude to the workplace. She truly represents Catholic Charities mission of Caring Beyond Belief and is well deserving of this month's Sister Serena Branson Award. Congratulations, Vicky!
As a volunteer in our RIDE program, Dave drives older adults in Herkimer County to their health and medical appointments. He goes above and beyond for the people we serve, allowing them to remain independent as they age. When the RIDE program was paused due to COVID, he went so far to pick up the phone and make sure folks were doing OK. His commitment and care for others is truly remarkable! Congratulations, Dave, on receiving this month's Sister Maureen Joyce Award!
