Our Christmas Programs Kick-Off the Holiday Season

Holiday Giving

"If it wasn’t for Catholic Charities, I wouldn’t have been able to provide a Christmas for my kids! The fact that they gave me a small gift bag too really hit me. I never expected they would include me as well."
- Lisa

As we try to put the events of the past year and half behind us, many of us look forward to a hopeful future. For those in our community living in poverty, it can be hard to hold on to hope. That’s how Lisa felt as she left jail and started to rebuild her life. She was unable to see her two children while incarcerated and her first goal was to get custody of Marta and Ricky to reunite her family in time for Christmas.

As a low level offender, Lisa was referred to the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program, through Catholic Charities Care Coordination. Through LEAD, Lisa was able to develop the skills needed to navigate the system and begin the process to regain custody of her children. With Catholic Charities’ support, Lisa found her sense of hope again, just in time for the holidays.

Thanks to donors like you, Lisa was a recipient of our Adopt a Family program which provided gifts to Marta, Ricky and even Lisa.

We would like to thank you as we approach Christmas and the holiday season. Your support of our mission helps us make the holidays special for the children and families we serve.

Catholic Charities agencies throughout the diocese are participating in Holiday Giving this year in order to provide dinners and gifts to our neighbors. We appreciate your support of our Christmas Programs this year and every year. Our Christmas Wishlist for 2021 can be found here.
