Stewart’s Shops/Dake Family to be honored by Catholic Charities at our 11th Annual Night at the Museum

On Thursday, June 15, 2023, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany will honor Stewart’s Shops/Dake Family at the 11th Annual Night at the Museum event. Stewart’s Shops/Dake Family, one of the region’s largest philanthropic businesses, will be recognized for their continued generosity of funding, time, and talent in support of their neighbors in need.

This year’s Night at the Museum will take place at the New York State Museum in Albany, NY and will begin at 5:30 PM. Proceeds from the evening will support the vital programs and services that Catholic Charities provides across the region, including: affordable housing, food pantries and other nutritional services, family and child support programs, services for survivors of domestic violence, and other human services programs targeted at eliminating poverty and need across the 14 counties Catholic Charities serves.

Sister Betsy Van Deusen, CEO of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, said: “I am so proud to have such committed partners working alongside Catholic Charities to help people in need. It is a joy to recognize Stewart’s Shops/Dake Family for their decades of volunteerism and generosity in support of our most vulnerable neighbors.”

Stewart’s Shops/Dake Family value investing in innovative projects and programs that meet the changing needs of their community's most vulnerable. Stewart’s Shops/Dake Family particularly invest in programs working to support and uplift children in need.

 In 2022 alone, Stewart’s Shops contributed $9 million in monetary and product donations including their Holiday Match Program. Since 1986, the Holiday Match Campaign has raised over $36 million. Through contributions to Catholic Charities of the Diocese, Stewart’s Shops/Dake Family have long supported vital and innovative programs, including affordable and supportive housing projects,

COVID-19 response efforts, and children’s services, including Catholic Charities’ Camp Scully, an affordable summer camp program for children.
