Charities Volunteers Return

Charities Volunteers Return

Six Catholic Charities employees recently returned home from a voluntary two week deployment in Houston, Texas. There, the team - our very own "Albany Angels"- assisted with Hurricane Recovery efforts.

The crew arrived back home on Sunday, October 1st, tired but happy to be back in New York. Several news organizations were on the scene to interview the returning Catholic Charities employees about their experience.

Catholic Charities USA had hosted its annual national conference in Houston, and while there the attendees volunteered with clean up and disaster recovery work. Catholic Charities agencies from around the country attended and got to work together. It was a fitting ending to the conference and a chance to meet colleagues from around the nation.

All agreed it was a great trip, and plans are already in the works for the next group of Catholic Charities employees from Albany to deploy to one of the disaster-stricken areas.
