Provides eldercare respite services, information and assistance, support services and groups to assist caregivers as they care for their older spouses, parents, and friends. This program is available throughout the 14 counties of our Diocese.

The Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Initiative seeks to alleviate the financial and emotional burden placed on caregivers. Services are offered in a 10-county region and provide a wide range of free support and respite services for caregivers including:
- Care Consultation & Caregiver Support
- Referral to home and community-based services
- Alzheimer's and Dementia Education
- Family Consultation & Counseling
- Support Groups
- Respite Care

LONG TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM

Protects the health, safety, welfare, human, and civil rights of people living in nursing homes and adult care facilities through volunteer Ombudsmen in 10 counties – Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Schoharie, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Warren, Washington, and Hamilton. Ombudsmen represent residents and work on their behalf with facility administrators, staff, and family members to achieve resolution of their complaints.
