Youth Prevention Services provides comprehensive programming to youth grades K – 12 in schools and community settings. Services include, substance abuse prevention education (classroom-based programs), and school-based counseling (both individual and group counseling). We also have a specialty school counseling program titled Teen Intervene which is a six-session drug/alcohol program for 12-19 years of age, with parent, or guardian involvement in the last session. All counseling is confidential and follows agency, and HIPAA, regulations.
Additional programming includes school staff in full- or half-day trainings, parent presentations, wellness day activities, community-based, after-school, and summer programs. Topics include: decision-making, problem-solving skills, assertiveness, stress and anger management, and effective communication. Our prevention programming is state-approved and evidence-based to learn the dangers of drug and alcohol use, and violence, and the skills necessary to resist.
